Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief M. Karunanidhi on Thursday celebrated his 93rd birthday by paying a floral tribute to party founder C.N. Annadurai at Anna memorial here.
The nonagenarian leader will meet party cadres and political leaders in DMK head office here and is also scheduled to address a public meeting.
Though the DMK lost in the recent assembly polls, the party has emerged as the strongest ever opposition in the state.
Karunanidhi himself won with a record highest margin with more than 68,000 votes and got elected to the Tamil Nadu assembly for the 13th consecutive time.
While the DMK-led alliance together won 98 seats, the Karunanidhi-led party had got 89 seats, followed by eight seats of ally Congress and one IUML.
