Kazakhstan offers deepest condolences to families of Malaysian air crash

The Government of Kazakhstan on Friday offered its deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the Malaysian Airlines MH-17 crash.

In a statement, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said: "We express our deepest condolences to the families and the close ones of those who perished due to the crash of the #MH17 Malaysian Airlines airliner in eastern Ukraine. We are most deeply concerned with what happened."

The statement further stated: "We believe that there should be a most thorough investigation and that all the circumstances of what happened be established. We are working to determine whether or not there had been citizens of Kazakhstan on board the plane and will share this information once we have it."

"Generally, we yet again call on all sides involved in the conflict in eastern Ukraine to cease fire the soonest and to find solutions to contradictions through peaceful means, the statement concluded.

The foreign ministry's statement was forwarded through the Embassy of Kazakhstan in New Delhi.
