The Kaziranga National Park is situated in Golaghat and Nagaon districts of Assam. The park, spread in an area of 430 kms, hosts two-third of the world's great one-horned rhinoceroses.

Assam's Forest and Environment Minister Etwa Munda opened the park at Mihimukh elephant tower in the Kohora Range in the presence of foreign and domestic tourists.

"We have opened the jeep and elephant safari. Last time, we have received 1, 31,000 tourists out of which 9,000 were foreigners. We collected 2.9 crore of revenue and this time we are expecting more tourists from different parts of the world. We will hopefully provide every possible facility to the tourists," said Kaziranga National Park Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) S.K. Sill Sarmah.
