The Congress Party on Wednesday said both the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief, Arvind Kejriwal, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi, were two sides of the same coin, adding that both were trying to use the upcoming Delhi assembly polls to launch personal attacks on each other.

"Kejriwalji and Kiran Bedi are two sides of the same coin. They are trying to gradually convert the Delhi debate into a personal 'tu tu main main' (argument) between these two leaders. They do not realise that they were both acting on covert support of BJP and RSS during India Against Corruption. This fact now stands exposed, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala told ANI here.

The Congress leader also asked Kejriwal as to why he did not expose Kiran Bedi and had chosen to keep silent all these years.

"Arvind Kejriwal must answer to the people of Delhi as to why he did not come out of India Against Corruption and expose Kiran Bedi if she was supporting the BJP during the India Against Corruption Movement? Kejriwal must also answer as to why he kept silent for all these years till Kiran Bedi joined the BJP and became their candidate," he said.

"He must also answer to the people of Delhi as to why was he leaning towards the BJP, as said by Shanti Bhushanji, the patriarch of the AAP. He must also answer as to why if she had BJP leanings, why was he offering her the chief minister's chair till last year," Surjewala asked.

Earlier in the day, Bedi rubbished the accusations made by the AAP of being soft on the BJP during the India Against Corruption (IAC) movement.

"I am not angry at anyone, and if I was soft on the Bharatiya Janata Party, then why did Arvind Kejriwal offer the chief ministership at that time?" asked Bedi.
