The Kolkata Knight Riders has defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore by a narrow two-run margin in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday.

Bangalore, chasing Kolkata's 150 for seven, began the last over needing nine runs before AB de Villiers (11) and Albie Morkel (6 not out) scored three runs off the first three balls from medium-pacer Vinay Kumar (2-26), although they only managed to make 148-5.

According to Sport24, Chris Lynn and Jacques Kallis had earlier shared in an 80-run partnership to provide the bulk of Kolkata's runs, with Lynn blasting 45 off 31 deliverie while Kallis was slightly more circumspect as he scored 43 off 41 balls.

Kallis and Lynn's third-wicket stand came up off 10.1 overs and helped rescue Kolkata who had slumped to 10 for two after Gautam Gambhir (0) was dismissed for his third duck in a row and Manish Pandey was out for five, the report added.
