"The government will make full preparations for the inter-Korean summit through the March 29 talks," it added.
Earlier on Thursday, Seoul had informed the Pyongyang via a border communication channel of its proposal for the talks.
Leaders of both countries are expected to hold a meeting on the sidelines on the summit, which will take place in late April.
