Kumari Selja resigns as Minister, set to enter Rajya Sabha from Haryana

President Pranab Mukherjee, as advised by the Prime Minister, has accepted the resignation of Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Kumari Selja, with immediate effect.

President Mukherjee has directed that Minister of Railways Mallikarjun Kharge, shall be given additional charge of the work of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Earlier on Tuesday, Selja filed her papers after being nominated by the Congress Party to the Rajya Sabha from Haryana.
