The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to give former Uttar Pradesh minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya a clean chit in connection with the March 2 murder of Kunda Deputy Superintendent of Police Zia-ul-Haq.
According to a report by CNN-IBN and other media, the CBI is expected to inform the concerned court that the polygraph test conducted on Raja Bhaiya has not revealed anything.
Raja Bhaiya resigned from the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet after the wife of Zia-ul-Haq alleged that he was responsible for the murder of her husband. He was then the state's food and civil supplies minister.
Raja Bhaiya was also not named in the CBI chargesheet in connection with the murder.
He was questioned by the CBI on May 15 and 16.
Haq was shot dead on March 2 in Balipur village in Kunda area of Pratapgarh district where he had gone to probe murder of village head Nanhe Yadav.
