The alleged mastermind of the Mumbai attacks Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi has been granted bail by Islamabad's lower court in the six year old kidnapping case against surety bonds worth 2,00,000 rupees but he is unlikely to be released as he was detained in Adiala Jail under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) for a month.
However, Lakhvi may be released after completion of the time period for his detention at Adaila jail.
According to Dawn News, Lakhvi's counsel argued at the civil court of Mian Azhar Nadeem that his client was wrongly booked in the kidnapping case.
Lakhvi's counsel argued that the kidnapping case was register to detain under pressure from India after the Anti-Terrorism Court granted him bail.
