Lewandowski ends Man U hopes by confirming Bayern move for next season

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski has reportedly confirmed that he will be joining German giants Bayern Munich next season, ending Premier League champions Manchester United's hopes of signing him.

According to Metro.co.uk, Lewandowski, who is in the final year of his Dortmund contract, will be free to discuss terms with interested parties in January.

Confirming that he will be moving to the Bundesliga champions on a free transfer at the end of the season, the Pole said that he would move to Pep Guardiola's side in January because then he can officially sign the contract.

United was reportedly keen on Lewandowski, who launched himself onto the European scene with four goals against Real Madrid in Dortmund's march to the Champions League final.

Lewandowski has scored 80 goals in 149 appearances for Dortmund, who refused to sell the striker to their rivals this summer, having already surrendered Mario Goetze, the report added.
