Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Wednesday said that appropriate action will be taken after all the states submit their reports on samples of Maggi noodles.

"We had issued an advisory to all states, told them to take samples of Maggi noodles and report to us by June 1. States have started sending reports, a few states are left, waiting for their reports," said Nadda.

"Let things get authenticated, then the Ministry will take a view, appropriate action will be taken on the basis of reports. We are taking a view on it, will be having a meeting today or tomorrow, accordingly appropriate action will be taken," he added.

Earlier, Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said the government had decided to file a complaint over the issue with the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) to further investigate the matter as the FSSAI reports might take some time to come.

His move came after the Delhi Government banned the sale of Maggi noodles at all government-run shops, including Kendriya Bhandars, in the city.
