Brandishing a gun, a man opened fire at a police team which had come to arrest him in the Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.
A police team had gone to Nakul Yadav's house in Firozabad's Ramkrishna Nagar to arrest him on charges of theft, but they could only find his brother Monu Yadav who had just been released from prison a week ago.
Seeing the police, Monu apparently thought they had come to arrest him so he arranged for a gun at his roof and then for half an hour threatened to kill himself before opening fire at them.
Meanwhile, a crowd had gathered and seeing that there was a possibility that Monu could shoot himself or harm someone else, they left the place empty handed.
Later, the police refused to comment over the incident.
