Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has backed winger Ashley Young, describing him as a fantastic 'team player'despite him again being omitted from the England squad.
The Dutchman said Young always thought of the team first, and added that he knew his role in the Manchester United squad very well.
Van Gaal admitted that he is really happy with Young's performance and said that the 30-year-old has the quality to play in a lot of positions.
A Sport24 report said Young was hoping to be recalled to the England squad, but national team manager Roy Hodgson dropped him from the forthcoming internationals against Estonia and Lithuania.
United are currently at the top in the Premier League table, having 16 points from seven games played so far.
