Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez is likely to miss the pre-season training with the Premier League side after suffering a broken collarbone while playing for Mexico in a friendly match.

Hernandez was taken to hospital after colliding with Honduras defender Bryan Beckeles during a warm-up game for the Gold Cup tournament, the BBC reported.

The 27-year-old, who scored 59 goals in his 154 appearances for Old Trafford, spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, which reportedly refused to take up their option to buy the striker.
