Manoj Tiwari hits out at Janata Parivar merger

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Manoj Tiwari on Thursday lashed out at the Janata Parivar parties' merger, saying its members were only interested in protection and political upliftment of their own family members.

"Look at this merger as 'Parivar Janata' instead of 'Janata Parivar'. Everyone is interested only in protecting their own families. The Chautalas, Lalu Prasad Yadav, all of them only want political points for the next generation of politicians from their families," Tiwari told ANI.

"They have united only to serve their own interests, and it is because of this that the public will not support them," he added.

The BJP MP further said that in the last 10-11 months there have been no scams or signs of corruption in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government.

"The country will be happy to know that in the last 10-11 months there have been no scams or signs of corruption. The only thing one hears is Skill India and this is good for the country," Tiwari asserted.

Earlier on Wednesday, six parties from the Janata Parivar decided to come together and form a new political front headed by Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United), Lalu Prasad's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party (SP), Om Prakash Chautala's Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), Janata Dal (Secular) led by former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and Samajwadi Janata Party (SJP) are the six perties that came together.
