Australian ultra-marathoner Pat Farmer's 'Spirit of India Run' from the southern tip of Kanyakumari to Kashmir at the northern end will be arriving at Taj Mahal on Thursday.

The 60-day Spirit of India Run was launched on January 26 and Farmer had run through eight states across India - Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan with twenty days to go before finishing his epic journey in Srinagar, Kashmir.

After running through Jaipur yesterday, Farmer has his sights on Agra, the next destination of the "golden triangle" for India's tourist circuit.

Though Agra is not along a direct route to Srinagar, but during the planning phase Farmer had said he wanted to showcase arguably the most famous destination in India.

During his two and half months of running 80km every day, the runner has suffered from severe dehydration, muscle meltdown, heat exhaustion, extreme cramps, Achilles tendinitis and delirium just to name a few.

The Spirit of India Run has been embraced across the country at every level from small communities and villages all the way to the highest levels of government.

Following the arrival in Agra where he will be given a tour and where his Australian film crew will do location shooting, Farmer will continue north to Delhi.

He is likely to arrive in Delhi on Sunday.
