The Max Group announced on Tuesday that two of its group companies, Max Life Insurance and Max Healthcare, have won the gold and bronze awards respectively, at the World Conference for Quality and Improvement 2018, organised by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) on May 3 in Seattle, USA.

This is the first time in the awards' history that two companies from the same group have emerged as winners of two of the three top awards.

Max Life has become the first Indian financial services company ever to win gold at the ASQ Conference and only the second Indian company ever to win this, after a gap of 12 years. Max Healthcare is the first healthcare organisation to win an award at this prestigious forum in the last decade. This is Max Life's third ASQ award in the last four years. They won the bronze in 2014 and 2017. This is also the first time in the awards' history that two companies from the same group have won two of the three top awards.

"These awards represent recognition of the Max Group's deep commitment to quality and service excellence, which are the foundation for creating a strong preference for Max amongst our customers," said Rahul Khosla, President, Max Group.

Max Life's won the gold trophy for its Lean Six Sigma Green Belt project titled "Reduction in New Business Discrepancy" that dramatically reduced new business cancellations and policy contract-related grievances. The project significantly improved overall customer loyalty scores and delivered substantial cost savings.

Max Healthcare won the bronze trophy for its MAXimise Quality project titled "Life Savers (Paramedics on Bike)". The project was aimed at saving lives by reducing the reach time of qualified medical care to patients during emergency through bike ambulances.

The ASQ World Conference is a premier global platform for knowledge transfer on quality tools and implementation and their International Team Excellence Award (ITEA) competition is one of the most prestigious as well as rigorous in the world of Quality.

This year, 23 teams from 16 companies across eight countries (including USA, UAE, Japan, China, Argentina, Mexico, and Malaysia) were selected for the competition from more than 300 entries worldwide. Of these, eight teams were from the Max Group, four each from Max Life and Max Healthcare. In addition to its Bronze win, Max Healthcare also won a Silver award for the Best Story Board.

The awards ceremony was attended by nearly 3000 participants comprising Quality and Service Excellence leaders and professionals from across the globe.
