Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati said here on Friday that she will not form a pre-poll alliance with any party, and no matter what happens in Uttar Pradesh, and added that her party would always fight elections alone in the state.
"Many Third Fronts have been made before elections also, but every time we fought with an alliance, we suffered a loss. That's why, we fight the elections alone, and not with any party. We have learnt from it and from what happens in UP. So, we have decided that whether it is a parliament election or an assembly election, we will never form an alliance with any other party. We will fight alone, because otherwise, we suffer a loss. And after results, we will consider the welfare of our party and weaker sections, then only, we take any decision. But we will fight elections alone," Mayawati said in an exclusive interview with ANI.
"In these elections, we got 20 percent of the votes cast in UP, and in 34 (of the 80) seats, we were ranked second. But the performance of the Congress was very poor. Had they fought with full preparations in UP and managed to win one lakh votes, then the BSP would have won. They (Congress) declined totally, "Mayawati added.
"We allied with the UPA, but we were not in favor of their strategies. That's why we didn't join the alliance, and only gave it support from outside. No matter what happens in UP, we will fight alone and form a government. We will not support the BJP or the SP, or any other party," she said.
"In the Rajya Sabha elections, we will support the BJP-led NDA Government. We will support them on issues concerning the public, the nation or the weaker sections," Mayawati said.
"We shouldn't see how many seats we have won. Our base vote is intact. In the entire nation, our party emerged as third largest party in Lok Sabha polls. SP and Congress base votes have been diverted to other parties," she added.
She also said that the people of Uttar Pradesh would bring the Samajwadi Party Government down; and not the BJP-led Government at the Centre. The Samajwadi Party Government would lose because of its own mistakes.

She further said: "In this Modi wave too, our base vote remained intact. We have given seats to leaders from all castes. If all those leaders did their duty well, why would we form BSP?
"The BSP has an organizational structure at the national and state levels. When I came to politics, I decided to dedicate my life to my ambition," Mayawati said.
