Mayawati unanimously elected as BSP national president

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati was unanimously elected as the national president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) here today.

Addressing a press conference earlier during the day, Mayawati said that a two day meeting of the BSP central working committee is being held in Lucknow starting August 30.

Mayawati said, "The meeting will concentrate on the work to be done in all the states starting aggressively with those states which go for the Assembly polls soon."

She also added that the BSP will evaluate the work done in the various states and especially work in those states where Assembly elections will soon take place.
