An Iowa woman gave a surprise birth to a baby, while she stepped into her shower to help ease the discomfort of stomach pains, it has been reported.
According to the Des Moines Register, Brittany Young decided to shower when she suffered recurring stomach pains and within minutes, she had given birth to a healthy 6-pound, 8-ounce girl, Fox News reported.
Young said she was in shock, and then yelled for a friend to call an ambulance.
The Des Moines woman knew she was pregnant, but thought she had about six more months to go. She now thinks she misunderstood a hospital worker and believed she was 12 weeks into a pregnancy instead of having 12 weeks of pregnancy left.
