A Russian backed Separatists' leader Igor Girkin had posted on a website that the victims of MH17 plane crash may have died days before the crash since their bodies were drained of blood and had the unpleasant smell of decay.

The separatists' leader added that a major number of bodies were not fresh, reports News24.

He also said that the information adds to the surrounding emotions in the plane crash.

However, Girkin could not confirm the information.

Igor Girkin also known as Strelkov had earlier admitted shooting the Malaysian aircraft in a tweet, which he had mistaken for a Ukrainian Air Force transport plant.

According to reports, Girkin is a former Russian military intelligence agent.
