British Olympic winner Mo Farah has said he was feeling more 'upbeat' now following the launching of a dope-related probe against his coach Alberto Salazar.

Farah said in a Facebook post that the past week had been tough, but that he had used this time to reflect.

He said he did realise that he had disappointed many people by pulling out of the race and wanted to apologise again, and extend a massive thanks to all of his supporters.

A BBC investigation alleged that Salazar, who was hired as Farah's coach in 2011, doped United States 10,000 metre record holder Galen Rupp in 2002, when the athlete was 16-years-old, after which Mo Farah had decided to pull out of the Diamond League race in Birmingham.

Salazar has refuted all the allegations made against him, and said he can prove that his accusers are 'knowingly making false statements'.
