The Congress Party on Monday hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for targeting the former UPA regime and said that the BJP-led NDA Government needs to change its mindset towards farmers.
"It is unfortunate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he will cure the disease of the land of the farmers. But Modi ji... disease is not in their lands, instead, it is in the minds of the government," Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala told ANI.
"Modi ji and his government should change their mindset, attitude and minds. The farmers and their lands should be valued, then automatically the reality would change," he added.
Addressing a mega rally at Nagla Chandrabhan in Mathura earlier on the completion of one year of NDA, Prime Minister Modi said that it is the beginning of the end of bad days for the people, as his government is making efforts day and night to reach out to the farmers and the poor through various welfare schemes.
He said his government is determined to give better governance to the people of the country.
Prime Minister Modi said those who were in power for the last sixty years are now feeling restless as they cannot loot the country anymore.
He said that his government took several new initiatives and decisions everyday during last one year, keeping in mind overall welfare of the common man.
The Prime Minister said there is a wave of optimism and feeling of change since the new government came to power.
