England skipper Eoin Morgan has said that the players, instead of coach Peter Moores, should take the responsibility for the team's early elimination from the World Cup.
England registered a consolatory nine-wicket win over Afghanistan in Sydney on Friday before signing off from the sports' pinnacle tournament.
A wave of anger has been directed at Moores after England suffered a 15-run defeat to a spirited Bangladesh on Monday in a match they had to win to stay in the tournament.
Backing coach Moores, Morgan said that he certainly think it was not fair, adding that all the responsibility should fall on the players, particularly when they had performed so badly, Sport24 reported.
Expressing that he is keen to retain his captaincy, Morgan said that there was going to be a review over the next couple of weeks so he couldn't determine whether he would still be captain, adding that the hunger was still there to do it and he had learned a lot throughout the tournament, particularly when things hadn't gone so well.
