Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly been charged with 'improper conduct' by the Football Association (FA) after he went to the pitch at Villa Park during the English Premiership leaders' shock defeat by Aston Villa last weekend.
The Portuguese was sent to the stands by the referee after going on to the pitch at Villa Park following a red card to Chelsea midfielder Ramires.
According to Sport24, FA stated that it is alleged Mourinho's behaviour in 're-entering the field of play in or around the 90th minute of the fixture and approaching the match referee amounted to improper conduct'.
Mourinho, who has until next Monday to respond to the charge, had claimed that although he entered the field, he was only a few metres inside the pitch, adding that there were almost ten outsiders along with him on the field, including Villa boss Paul Lambert.
Mourinho further said that even though Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor came in and 'made an aggression' on Ramires from behind, he was not penalised, adding that although he tried to talk to the referee after the match, the referee refused to entertain him.
Mourinho was sent to the stands after Ramires' red card for a studs-up challenge on Karim El Ahmadi.
FA rules state that managers must not leave the technical area during the course of the match, the report added.
