Moyes ready to put faith in Man U's 'youngsters' in absence of major signings

Manchester United manager David Moyes has admitted he would have to put faith in the club's youngsters if the club is unable to make any major signings this season.

According to Sport24, Moyes has found it a challenge to strengthen United's squad since he replaced fellow Scot Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford and after Barcelona rejected United's bid for Fabregas, he has been looking at other options.

The Red Devils also tried to acquire Thiago Alcantara, who later moved to Bayern Munich and failed with a 28 million pound double bid for Everton left-back Leighton Baines and Belgium midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

However, Moyes does not seem overly concerned and claims he would happily give youngsters like Tom Cleverley, Nick Powell and Adnan Januzaj a chance to impress, the report said.

The manager said that there was a need to sign players but no pressure to do it and it was something that was being talked about since he took the job on July 1.

He added that there was an idea of where he would want to strengthen and had targeted only certain players.
