Chairman of Reliance Industries Limited Mukesh Ambani has retained his position as the richest Indian for the eighth year in a row and ranked 39 in Forbes magazine's annual ranking of global billionaires with a net worth of 21 billion dollars.
Ambani is closely followed by pharmaceuticals business tycoon Dilip Shanghvi who takes the 44th spot on the list with a net worth of 20 billion dollars and Azim Premji at 48th with 19.1 billion dollars.
Indians on the list include Shiv Nadar, 66th with 14.8 billion dollars, Hinduja Brothers, 69th Lakshmi Mittal, 82nd, Kumar Mangalam Birla, 142nd, Uday Kotak 185th, Gautam Adani 208th, Sunil Mittal, 208th and Cyrus Poonawalla 208th.
Anil Ambani is ranked 418th with a net worth of 4 billion dollars.
