Wimbledon champion Andy Murray defeated France's Gael Monfils in five sets in a late rush to reach the French Open semifinals with a 6-4, 6-1, 4-6, 1-6, 6-0 win.
Murray reportedly let slip a two-set lead but raced through the fifth set to beat the French ace and will now face eight-time champion Rafael Nadal in a repeat of the 2011 semifinals.
According to the BBC, Murray said that it was a hard match as conditions changed quite a lot during it, adding that it was extremely windy in the beginning and then it was pretty calm at the end and very slow.
Murray added that it was obviously very cold at the end of the match and Monfils really raised his game in the third set.
The Briton added that he thought that he played a pretty good third set, although the fourth set was not his best, but it was a fun match.
Murray will now face Nadal, who beat fellow Spaniard and fifth seed David Ferrer 4-6, 6-4, 6-0, 6-1, in the semifinals, the report added.
