After rejoining forces with British tennis maestro Andy Murray, coach Ivan Lendl has admitted that their target is to ruin top-ranked Novak Djokovic's bid to become the greatest player of all times.

Earlier this week, Murray revealed that he had agreed a deal to resume his relationship with Lendl two years after they parted ways.

The 29-year-old's decision came after losing his third consecutive Grand Slam final to Djokovic at the French Open.

Djokovic has been dominating the sport from last year, having bagged all four Grand Slam title and won a total of 24 matches out of his previous 34 encounters with Murray.

Despite that, Llendl believes that Murray still holds a chance to turn things around for himself this year, the Guardian reports.

The former world number one, however, described Djokovic's achievement as 'phenomenal' and said that he deserved respect for the same.

Murray had enjoyed a golden period under Lendl as he clinched the US Open title and a gold medal at the Olympics in 2012 before becoming the first British man to win the Wimbledon title after 77 years in 2013.

His decision to split with Lendl originally came because the 56-year-old former number one was unwilling to spend extra time with Murray on the gruelling ATP Tour.
