North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has reportedly inspected the progress in work on a 'world class resort' even as rival South Korea is preparing to host the 2018 Winter Olympic games.
The resort that is being built on Masik hill in Wonsan will start functioning by the year end and will run through 110 kilometers of multi-level ski runs, a hotel, heliport and cable cars, the New York Daily News reports.
Jong Un has said that the ruling Workers' Party was strongly determined 'to build the skiing ground into a world class one'.
According to the report, the leader has urged the workers to complete the ski resort's construction by the next winter and said that it will be 'more fantastic to see the ground covered with snow'.
Meanwhile, the South Korean resort of Pyeongchang is preparing to host the Olympics, and there has been speculation that the South and North might attempt to field a unified team, the report added.
