A video message by David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, was played at the event which included Canada's Finance Minister, Joe Oliver, as the chief guest, India's High Commissioner to Canada Admiral (Retired) Nirmal Verma as guest of honour, among other prominent federal and provincial government leaders and representatives.
