Pakistan opening batsman Nasir Jamshed said that he would strive hard to regain his slot back in the Test format despite his exclusion from the Test squad.
According to The Nation, Jamshed believes that as a batsman, he needs to play Test cricket to become better as it is a very highly-regarded format, and vowed to perform well in the Zimbabwe tour to impress the selectors enough to bring him back to the five-day format.
Stating that he was just going with the intention to win in Zimbabwe, Jamshed said that he wants to perform in a way which will make his team win, adding that his fitness level is as good as before.
According to Jamshed, Pakistan should learn from other teams which have players as part of their winning combinations, despite low fitness levels, adding that when he makes a comeback in Tests, he would want to regarded as a mature and dependable cricketer.
Meanwhile, bowler Anwar Ali said that he looked forward to solidifying his place in the team with a good performance in the Zimbabwe tour, adding that he has also improved his batting by consistent performances in domestic games.
Stating that he is preparing well to carve out a niche for himself in the national bowling unit, Ali also said that even though it is tough to find a place in the already performing bowling unit, he is confident that he is going to get a chance to prove himself and perform himself as an all-rounder in the tour.
