Nation should try its best to maintain 'dignity' of Republic: Rajnath Singh

Wishing the nation on the occasion of 67th Republic Day, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday hoped that the citizens would try their best to maintain the dignity of the Republic.

"I wish the entire nation on this auspicious day. I hope that the Indians will try their best to maintain the dignity of the Republic," Singh told ANI.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also extended his wishes and urged the people to follow and implement Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution in spirit.

"Happy Republic Day. Let's pledge to follow and implement Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution in spirit," Kejriwal tweeted.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also extended his wishes on the occasion

"Warm wishes to the people on the occasion of Republic Day," tweeted Kumar.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also hoisted national flag on the occasion in Ratlam.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had greeted the nation on 67th Republic Day and hailed the contribution of those who framed the Constitution.

"Republic Day greetings to all my fellow Indians. Tributes to all great personalities who framed our Constitution. I salute Dr. Ambedkar for his efforts as Chairman of Drafting Committee," the Prime Minister tweeted.

The nation is celebrating its 67th Republic Day today and the main function will be held at Rajpath in the national capital where President Pranab Mukherjee will take salute of the parade and French President Francois Hollande will preside as the chief guest.
