Nawaz Sharif leaves for NY to attend UNGA session

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif left for New York today to attend the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

According to The Express Tribune, Sharif is likely to address the UNGA on September 30 as well as the meeting of General Assembly for adoption of the post-2015 development agenda.

Pakistan, United States and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will co-host a peace summit.

Sharif will also attend a global leaders' meeting on gender equality and women empowerment organised by China and UN women.
