Neil Patrick Harris has revealed that reason he got married to his long-time partner David Burtka was their children.
During his appearance on 'The View,' the 41-year-old 'How I Met Your Mother' star, who had a surprise Italian wedding earlier in September, said that they realized that their twin kids, who were born via surrogacy, had reached the age where they would face a lot "why's" regarding their parents, Us magazine reported.
It seemed important they had a precise "identity" of who their dad is and that Burtka was his husband, he added.
The couple, who had been together for the past 10 years had their children Gideon and Harper in 2010 had a small intimate ceremony inviting only around 45 people.
Harris said that it was more about a declaration that they wanted to share in front of their children.
