The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Monday confirmed that the Nepal Government has asked the search and rescue teams from 34 countries to withdraw their operations from the earthquake-hit areas of the country, adding that it will make a demobilisation plan for the same.
"The Nepalese Government has decided that all those countries which have the 'search and rescue' teams should return back to their countries. The reason being that search and rescue operations have come to an end," Director General, NDRF, O.P Singh told ANI.
"We will be withdrawing from Nepal and will be making our demobilization plan and will be sending our troops back to the country," he added.
Nepal was devastated by a massive earthquake on April 25, which measured 7.9 on the Richter scale and resulted in the deaths of over 7,000 people. It is being viewed as one of the worst calamities suffered by Nepal in over 80 years.
Sixteen teams of NDRF, 50 members each had been deployed in various areas of Nepal.
