Two relatives of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi here and presented a copy of a book on the legendary freedom fighter.

The grand-niece and grand-nephew of Netaji, Madhuri Bose and Chandra Bose, respectively, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Parliament House complex on Wednesday and presented a copy of her book "The Bose Brothers and Indian Independence - An Insider's Account" to him.

"This book primarily was written and compiled by my father Amiya Nath Bose, who was extremely close to his uncle Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1996, so he couldn't publish it himself," Chandra Bose told the media.

"So we completed the book. My sister Madhuri actually spearheaded compiling and finally publishing it," he added.

Chandra Bose also pointed out that successive governments failed to put forward correct history of the Indian freedom movement in front of the nation.

"So it is a beginning of a new era; by unveiling this book Narednra Modi ji has again committed to put forward the correct history of the Indian freedom Movement to the present and future generation of Indians," he added.

Chandra's sister Madhuri Bose also said there are many other highlights in the book.
