A doctor has said that children's love of milk, macaroni and cheese, and dessert is causing more than just a sugar rush and is actually causing a disease.
Pediatric otolaryngologist Dr. Julie L. Wei, who treats children with diseases of the ear, nose and throat, calls the problem 'Milk and Cookie Disease,' Fox News reported.
Wei has spent years treating kids otherwise healthy, but suffering from chronic runny and stuffy noses, coughs, sore throats, constipation, and fatigue and even after kids didn't improve on prescription medications, she started asking questions.
In many cases, she found that the patients consumed lots of dairy and sugar throughout the day and snacked just before going to bed.
This food most likely backed up into the stomach, the esophagus, and the throat and caused reflux, cold- and allergy-like symptoms, and sleep problems.
