The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet in a special court against four NDFB (Songbijit) militants, over the horrific terrorist attack on innocent Adivasis of Hatijuli and Shantipur villages in Sonitpur and Kokrajhar districts of Assam on December 23, 2014.
The terror attack had resulted in the death of six persons and grievous injuries to two others.
During the course of investigation, the NIA was able to collect a wide variety of evidence ranging from oral testimonies to technical records and results from ballistic tests.
The NIA has opted to continue further investigation of the case, since certain hardcore senior leaders of NDFB(S) are yet to be apprehended.
