After a sharp fall in the market yesterday, the Sensex trailed 51 points higher at 25747, whereas the Nifty traded above 7800 points.
With Midcap and Small cap trading in green, pharma, private banking, tyre and IT became the strongest working sectors.
The gainers include Lupin, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Sun Pharma and Hindalco. Among the losers are Hero Moto, ONGC, Bajaj Auto, NTPC and Tata Motors.
The Indian rupee opened lower by 10 paise at 66.26 against dollar.
Sharp fall in crude prices with Nymex made the crude to trade below 44 dollars per barrel.
