Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will not attend Rahul Gandhi's Champaran rally scheduled to take place on September 19 ahead of Bihar assembly polls.
According to reports, K.C. Tyagi of Janata Dal United (JD-U) will represent his party.
The Congress Party is planning to make the rally at Ram Nagar in West Champaran District, a mega affair. The top leaders of the grand alliance are expected to attend the mega event.
The term of the 243-member Bihar assembly comes to an end on November 29. Polls in the state will begin on October 12 and end on November 5. Counting of votes will take place on November 8.
