The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Tuesday, categorically stated that there was no incorrect map of India's boundary shown in any MoU signed by India with China in any of the events attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Cartographic depiction of India's boundaries an important aspect of our foreign policy. There was no incorrect cartographic depiction in any events where the Prime Minister was present. The MoU that was signed did not have any map," the MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said here at a press conference.

He also stated that the MoU that has created ripples in political circles was signed when the Prime Minister was not present and hence he would not be able to comment on that.

On Monday the Congress not only accused the Gujarat government but also dragged Prime Minister Narendra Modi into a controversy for signing of an MoU with China during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit where maps had allegedly shown Arunachal Pradesh to be as a disputed territory and Aksai Chin as part of China.
