Odd-Even II: Delhi Govt. to run shuttle service to ferry MPs to Parliament

With the second half of the Budget session of Parliament beginning today, Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai has said that they would run a shuttle service dedicated to MPs while appealing to them to follow the Odd-Even rule.

The Transport Minister also appealed to the MPs to pool car this session of Parliament.

"If there is demand by MPs, Delhi Government will run special DTC shuttle for MPs to reach the Parliament. We will launch special shuttle services for MPs. There is no need for them to be exempted from the Odd-Even scheme," Rai told ANI.

"Six buses will leave from North Avenue and South Avenue at 9 a.m. Out of these, two buses would run from North Avenue, two from South Avenue, one at Ashok Road and one bus would ply at Akbar Road to drop the MPs to the Parliament. Those who have even number cars can avail of the service, or they can carpool," he added

He also said he has spoken to Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan and arranged alternate transport system for MPs whose car numbers would be in violation of the rule.
