As many as eight youths drowned when their boat capsized in the Vena Dam, situated around 25 kilometers from Nagpur.
A total of 11 people had come for a joy ride on Sunday evening when the mishap took place. However, the remaining three were able to escape.
While one body has been recovered, seven people are still to be rescued.
"Two teams are here for rescue operations. Few boys had come for picnic. They took fishing boat that capsized,"
Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) Nagpur Suresh Bhoyat told ANI.
"We will take help from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)," he added.
