All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday condemned the thrashing of independent legislator Engineer Rashid by BJP MLAs in the state assembly and said that the Jammu and Kashmir Government should take action against these leaders.
"On the floor of the house (J&K), an MLA is attacked by other MLAs. What kind of governance is this?" asked Owaisi.
"Engineer Rashid has not done anything wrong or illegal," Owaisi told ANI.
BJP MLAs had earlier today thrashed Rashid for hosting a beef party at the MLA hostel yesterday.
The beef ban had led to violent protests in Jammu and Kashmir earlier.
The Supreme Court has suspended the ban for two months and constituted a three-judge bench to decide on the matter.
