A day ahead of the commencement of the monsoon session of Parliament, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday said that he will support Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) no-confidence motion against the centre over the Andhra Pradesh special status row.
This came after TDP MP Kesineni Srinivas moved a no-confidence motion against the centre regarding the same, to include in the list of business.
"The TDP delegation has not yet met me. But if they are going to put a no-confidence motion, I will definitely stand up and support it," Owaisi told ANI.
On Sunday, TDP President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Naidu wrote letters to non-BJP, non-Congress parties' presidents and Parliamentary party leaders seeking support on a no-confidence motion against the Centre in the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament over demand for special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
Thereafter, the TDP made six-subgroups of the party leaders, who will meet and handover Chandrababu Naidu's letter and a booklet explaining the injustice done to the state and seek the support of various parties.
