Ashes rivals England and Australia are reportedly still backing the controversial Decision Review System (DRS) for the last two Tests of the series despite a string of controversies in the opening three games.

According to Sport24, England, who holds a 2-0 lead, have already wrapped up the Ashes following a rain-washed Old Trafford draw, which wiped out Australia's hopes of getting the historic urn for this series.

Admitting that the DRS has not performed as effectively during the past three Tests as it has in other series, ICC general manager Geoff Allardice said that he was encouraged to hear both England and Australia reiterate their support for the use of DRS during the meeting before the fourth Test at Durham.

According to Allardice, some of the ideas that were suggested during the meetings could improve the system and will be considered further by the ICC.

Allardice further said that the purpose of his visit to England was to meet with the teams to listen to their feedback and to identify potential improvements to DRS moving forward.
