The Australian media has claimed that England had lost sight of the goal of achieving a record win over Australia in the final Test, and had decided to let Australia win.
According to news.com.au, great Australian players like McGrath, Warne, the Waughs and Hayden were always bent on humiliating their opponents and never lost sight of the ultimate goal.
The report said that England on the other hand, designed a pitch that would prove to be a stalemate, for the fifth and final Test.
England was also too slow in their approach during The Oval test match, the report added.
