Australian PM has sent a congratulatory message to Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge on the occasion of the royal baby's birth.
The 55-year-old politician said in a statement that on behalf of all Australians that he and his wife Therese extend their warmest regards to the new parents, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, the Guardian reported.
He said that William held a special place in the hearts of many Australians.
Rudd asserted that they share in the joy of the British Royal Family, especially Prince Charles on the birth of his grandson and Queen Elizabeth II on the arrival of her great grandchild.
He added that this is a happy day for their close friends in Britain and the Commonwealth.
