Pacquiao says bout with Mayweather not happening five years too late as more people interested now

Filipino boxer and politician Manny Pacquiao has said that his much awaited bout with unbeaten US boxing champion Floyd Mayweather is not happening five years too late as he believes that more number of people are informed and interested about the superfight now.

Talks about the staging the two fighters against each other had broken down back in 2009, but Pacquiao believes that it would not have got the media attention that it is getting now.

And Pacquiao also believes that he is still the same fighter that he was five years ago and insisted that he has never been more determined to come out on top in a fight, The Mirror reported.

Pacquiao conceded that more people are interested and informed about this fight now than they would've been five years ago.

The Filipino insisted that style wise, he is the same fighter he was five years ago, adding that his determination, inspiration and killer instinct is the exact same as it was five or six years ago.

Heading into the fight, Pacquiao said that he has had the best possible preparation for the fight because his sparring partners have a similar fighting style to Mayweather. He said that he feels very excited for the fight, adding that he has a lot of sparring partners that are similar to Mayweather's fighting style.

Pacquiao said that they have done well, and they know what to expect, adding that he has watched tape on Mayweather to make sure that their strategy and technique in training camp is correct.

And Pacquiao also said that that becoming the first man to break the 47-fight unbeaten streak of Mayweather would mark the biggest result in his career.
